Jurate 's tip about Vilnius, Lithuania  (with reference to Eating, Restaurants, City Breaks) 10th Mar 2012

Vilnius is enough old town. So, we have a lot of interesting places for guests: castle of Gediminas, river Neris with 7 bridges (each bridge has name of colour), a lot of churches, two sinagoga's, one house of pray for muslim. For shopping is good place named by Akropolis or Ozas. For eating: many coffes and restaurants in old city or center.
About night life I can't say something, because I don't like night clubs. But I think, that Vilnius have enough amount of different kind nightclubs. So, welcome to Vilnius!

As a start, Vilnius is a great city, especially for couples that want a peaceful week or weekend together :-). However, if you want a funky nightlife you will find that as well.
You will discover more and more nice places for each visit, often small hidden places in basements or in backyards.
The inhabitants are friendly and you get a small feeling of Paris.... they dress in last fashion and to be honest.. the girls are just great.
However, if you want to go to Vilnius I will recommend the period May - September.

To make good tips it is not easy :) as it depends on what the visitor is intrested. My suggestion always is to take a sightseeing tour (what I usually am doing visiting new places).
Of course it is good to know something about the place you are going to visit. I am suggesting to look at that videos - maybe you will get some ideas :). If you need something you want to know more detailed - then, please, write me and if I will be able to help I will help you.
Now, enjoy this and wellcome to Lithuania:)

Vilnius is a beautiful city with an interesting history. There's lots to see and do. We found a few great restaurants and bars to occupy our time when it was pouring with rain. Don't be afraid to wander around off the main streets. That's where you'll find the most fascinating places.
It doesn't seem to suffer from the same influx of stag nights as Tallinn does. Go before hte invasion starts.

Close to Vilnius it is small town Trakai. For visitors and tourists alike Trakai always proves to be an unexpected wonder. The pride of Trakai is the Island Castle, the only castle in Eastern Europe built on an island, museum on the Galvė Lake. The peninsular castle, barrows and cemeteries are unique sites and the church, one of the most valuable Lithuanian heritage objects. Persons who are the greatest figures of our history and who have honourably remained important in European history lived in the Užutrakis Manor and the Old Town of Trakai.
