Stay at the ibis hotel, beware of taxi drivers selling cheap tickets, the russian retailers sell pretty good Caviar and trinkets. Dress warm, inside the festival, it can get as low as -35, hat, mask, 8 layers, snow boots and gloves should do it.

It's quite cold in there now. You will enjoy the ice scuptures and the tiger park. The fire works are amazing.... You will love the food and have multiple options. You will see architectural influences from Russia as Harbin is much nearer to Russia and has much closer historical association with it....... I loved the the hot-pot, harbin style and some of the islamic style food.....

its really depents what you want to see, its pretty cold in winter,but you can see ice festival and lots of coloniel ruusain building,local style food is quite good. what kind of recommendation you guys want

Positive, and if you are in Northeast China during January-February, it's worth visiting. To me, it's something that you do once in a lifetime, not every year.
Toward north along the Shangzhi Road to seek the Oriental King of Dumplings.Very delicious! I highly recommended it to you.
