Cambodian culture and art is strongly impregnated with Râmâyana's story. I've just finished to read it, but I really recommand to read it before visiting Cambodia : you'll understand easily the different Râmâyana scenes.

I arrived sharing a taxi with locals from the Thai border. The room I got was US$6 a night in July last year double bed,tv and shower attached ablution.Get the local town booklet-its free and in it is the history of ankor wat.Arrange a Tuck Tuck It will cost around $6 dollar for the morning and $25 entrance at Ankor Wat.Get there before sunrise to see, explore explore all temples exspecially the ones with huge overgrown trees amazing. Also dont be afraid try the frog at the nightmarket. It is grilled and nicely spiced.Backpack and travel light.I took the bus to the coast afterwards, all safe and cheap.

Siem Reap town serves as the Angkor Archaeological Park which encompasses dozens of temple ruins including Bayon, Bantaery Srey, Ta Prohm and legendary Angkor Wat whose artistic and archaeological significance and visual impact puts it in a class with the Pyramids, Machu Pichu and the Taj Mahal.
The town is actually a cluster of old villages, which originally developed around individual pagodas. Nowadays the town has grown out of recognition from its humble roots. There are several elegant 5 star hotels, and a multitude of alternative accommodation options; an amazing variety of restaurants, lots of shopping opportunities and a vibrant nightlife. Often missed are the many opportunities to experience traditional Cambodia: boat trips on the great Tonle Sap Lake to fishing villages and the Prek Toal bird sanctuary, craft shops and silk farms, road tours through rice paddy countryside to distant temples and beyond.

Angkor Wat is huge and beautiful.....
But what I remember most is it was my first time flying abroad alone to Siem Reap. My older sister and her husband were there one day earlier than me and my parents, together with my younger sister flew there the following day after my flight. I felt excited and was never sure if I did it right in every single step to enter the country but all was fine finally. And it's a nice trip.

check out Phnom Penh and the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, it is worth seeing.

Rob Richardson from Lilydale, Australia Rob
There is a lot more on Genocide in Seam Reap, catch up with Kip (TukTuk driver) outside Royal Bay Inn and he will show you around that part of the country.
