We had a great time in Ocho Rios, unable to fault it. Did use local taxi rather than organized tours, a good way to see some of the off the tourist track areas, and meet very friendly people. Also visited Dunn's River Falls (by catamaran, just the crew and us that day), and can well recommend it. Local guide also videoed our climb up, and delivered the DVD to our hotel that evening. New Years Eve party at the hotel was great too, as was the entertainment generally there, a great group of performers of international standard. Don't forget to call Leroy Clarke, or one of his taxi driver colleagues for your own personal tour of the surrounding area (thank's Leroy). Nearly forgot, Hotel Name, "Rius". and yes, we would love to go back there again and see more of Jamaica.

We want to come to Ocho Rios in February (6 of us) all inclusive affordable nice... any suggestions :?

Definitely see Dunns River Falls, take a Martha Brae river raft ride, see the caves where the British landed (can't remember the name of the cave), take a trip to Kingston to see Bob Marleys house, go for Reggae Sunsplash........and much more!!

I couldn't expect to find a better place at lower rates anywhere in the Caribbean. Sunset Jamaica Grande was excellent. Jean, or host coordinator was terrific, fun, and VERY helpful, much unlike he counter part in Cancun, whom we never saw. The food was good, the people were friendly and helpful, the room was clean.. everything was great. We visited the falls (within walking distance), the Plantation, and the illumines bay. Don't miss the bay, its totally awesome. I will eventually be traveling back to Jamaica.

make sure you dont pay at the airport $5.00 for a red stripe beer thats not the correct price u get 2 for that in ocho rios |
My only advice is not to do any organized tour and stay away from Dunns Falls. The Falls were a big disappointment but the organized pathways are designed to put you through booths. I have never been harassed so bad by locals and merchants as I was in Ochos Rios. I do not need to go back. I will stay on the ship and relax. |

great italian restaurant on the hill overlooking the town, has had many famous rock stars etc eat there. well priced and great view, great staff and the lady running it is awesome |

great place to visit. nice beaches, recreation, shopping etc. A safe area that is monitored by tourist security all day. Be careful not to be too friendly as persons may try to trick you for money.

Ocho Rios an amazing experience at the falls. Just take with u a water camera, aqua shoes and have fun
