Sheffield has about half a million people. It is the home of some of the best India rock bands, over several generations, from the 1970s Cabaret Voltaire, through Human League, Heaven 17, ABC, the Thompson Twins, to Pulp in the 1990s and the Long Blondes and the Arctic Monkeys in the new millenium. It has a vibrant music culture. It also has the Peak District National Park to the West, much of which is within the city and some fine industrial History, particularly the wonderful Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet. Also the city has a fantastic choice of beers in some of the best pubs in the UK, from Kelham Island, Abbeydale, Thornbridge and many others.

Must visit Sheerwood forest, admire the giant oak tree, robin hood legend! Nice souvenir to bring back from there, e.g. Pen in wooden crafted box, printed map on cloth....
