Plymouth is a very interesting there is the Hoe with fantastic views over the sound. You have the Historic Barbican area where the Pilgrim fathers sailed from with its many old buildings there are plenty of places to eat in and Pubs. You can from here take a trip around the dockyard on a boat and see the Navy ships.There is also the Fishing Harbour and Aquarium in this area. You have the Royal Citadel which is open Tuesday and Thursday (May - Sept). Close by you have dartmoor and over in Cornwall (just) you have Two National Trust houses in Torpoint well worth a visit. For the shoppers or a wet day you have the new Drakes circus shopping centre.
