What would hitch hiking be like coming out of Hanmer Springs and into Christchurch, and vice versa??

Jone Garry Tikodei from Christchurch, New Zealand Jone Garry
hamner springs into chch is not too bad, because alot of people go to the hot pools from chch and return so there is a chance to get a ride back.however chch to hanmer you would have to hitch to wairakei and than get off on state highway 1 and than hitch from the turn off into hanmer.

Dave you are right in that it will take some time to rebuild the city but don't scare people away from coming to see our beautiful country and especially the lovely South Island. While Christchurch does not look as pretty as it did, it will again one day. Jill

Stay away, is my advice. It will take our pathetic "leaders" years to rebuild the city, as they first have to go on expensive fact finding tours of the world including a sand castle competition. Try Hanmer Springs for a relaxing break as all you wll see here are road bariiers & piles of rubble. Try again in 2015 - we'llprobably be ready to start building then

Its so pity. Been there 10 years ago and loved the city.
Hope your leaders 'll find the way to rebuild it againe.. anyhow..thanx for your advise..

If you want to see this city, then by all means come, there are other things to do, places of interest, but for the inner city, the part that had all the icons, the buildings, the statues, that is behind a wall of wire fencing, pity but they are offering you bus rides through the damaged area.. but we are warm people, and there are other places you can go to, kaikoura whale watching, Akaroa a french settlement, swimming with the dolphins.. and you can take helicopter rides over the city

Hi!!
I would like to move to New Zealand this year and I would like to know if it's easy to move there.. Is it easy to get a job there? I need to look for a place for me too, is it expensive?
Best regards,
Vânia
