Alison 's tip about Adelaide, Australia 17th May 2008

Beautiful part of Australia.. was shown around by a good friend that moved there.. was taken to a sweet factory (mmm lovely)... also went to an animal reserve (The Gorge).. you could walk amongst the animals and the wallabies fed from your hand.. my oldest daughter loved it..also went to Safe harbor and went on a pony ride to the Island to see the puffins etc...good shopping mall too.. they had a place that served flavored balls of ice.. my daughter kept wanting more lol... would love to go back again...was very warm when we went - Easter(April) in fact it was just the right sort of warm and we had a great time...we went to a Place called Charlies.. you pay 12 and you can eat as much as you want.. was very good value...

I love Adelaide its the 7th liveable city in the world as its cost of living is not very high compare to Sydney and other major cities. Adelaide is the festival state of Australia and its easy to get around too.
The wineries and cheese tasting are great especially at the Baroosa Valley, the football match at the AAMI Stadiumi love it and the people are very friendly .

Lived in Adelaide. Kennsington, Norwood & Wattle Park are gorgeous areas. Go all the way up Kennsington - up the hill toward the wineries. South Australia has heaps of great wineries. Get ready to get your touring on : )

Adelaide has brought some of the unique architecture from England and some of the small municipalities are just amazing. The weather is generally mild but it can get chilly in the winter and of course it does have its very hot days during the summer.
The city is quite easy to get around and the public transport is efficient and can deliver you to most places of interest.
I really love the feel of Glenelg and just walking down to the jetty.
Of course then there are the best wineries in Australia located 1 1/2 hours drive from the city. Nothing can beat McLaren Vale and Angaston as two of the most beautiful country centres.
I always enjoy my return visits to Adelaide and will always regard as my "home".

Stayed at the West Beach Caravan Park. The water was nice and clear, and there was a takeaway food shop nearby. My favourite spots in Adelaide included Handorf, Glenelg and the Aquarium.
