Mujercheca 's tip about Harare, Zimbabwe  (with reference to Reggae, Music, Music events, IT, City Breaks) 27th Jan 2012

The best club in Harare is Mannenberg - nice reggae music. Look for the concert of Manuel Motsi and his group!
I lived in a suburb named Warren Park, I was the only white there, it was a real Zim experience - the local people are fantastic!
When feeling like leaving the city for a while don't miss the Domboshawa hills nearby.

Willie 's tip about Harare, Zimbabwe 23rd Feb 2008

Sunny and leafy this time of the year. Wide variety of vegetables and fruits are in season. The people are generally friendly but avoid moving alone especially at night.

David 's tip about Harare, Zimbabwe  (with reference to Walking, Museum & Galleries, Arts and Crafts, Photography ) 30th Jan 2012

Yes, nice, warm. Best time to go is perhaps late March, early April (April 18th is Independence Day). Avoid walking after dark esp in central Harare. Buy crafts etc at National Gallery, quality craft shops esp Jairos Jiri; for art Gallery Delta, Tengenenge, National Gallery.Books: Weaver Press, Baobab, Mambo Press, esp at Mambo Press Bookshops. Lots of good hotels and hostels. Be vvv.careful photographing in the street.

Kash 's tip about Harare, Zimbabwe 28th Aug 2008

It was nice experienced, we stay in an apartment in Newlands. Language is not a problem people are fluent in English. I learned basic French in this country as well in Alliance Francaise, very nice teachers. We went for a 5 day holiday in Vic Falls, its breathtaking. We stayed in Kingdom Hotel, nice hotel a few steps away from the falls itself.

Harare is an exciting place to be. Friendly people around and good worldclass hotels. You will need enough to move around as it is a bit more expensive than many towns in the region. Do not hesitate to visit Harare but make sure your pocket is intact. You can still make your bookings direct from your country to avoid inconviniences

Zim is the place to be, if you have your money. You will live like a king/queen, the sky is the limit. Lovely laid back people. Organic food all round, one of the 7 wonders of the world. Castle, lion, pilsner best beers in the world, they do get better with age no best before. Go out and enjoy, you may not want to come back, I don't blame you, everybody does

As im an overlander, harare is always a pass thru, or we tend to stay with friends. I prefer the eastern parts of Zim,... Chimanimani, Masvingo....Harare is a good city, big in comparison to other african countries i've visited. Lots to see and do, and relatively safe. English widely spoken.
