I live in the area and have had no problems , If you staying at the hotels which are all close to the Mall. Excellent shopping and Food places. Sandton is very busy throughout the week so if u looking for quiet u in the wrong place.

First time staying here in a busy commercial city in South Africa, lots of small road, I am easily lost because the house here looks almost all the smae with high walls and electrical fence. Good quality shopping malls if you love shopping, but things are very much expensive than back home in Singapore. Don't feel safe around here, just last night there is about 60 gun shots just about a kilometer away from the house I stayed, very loud and frightening, seems like someone is chasing another firing all the way down the street! Upington in the Northern Cape is still the best in South Africa, low walls and no electrical fence.
