One of the iconic landmarks in San Francisco. The name originates from 1846 when California U.S. Army Captain John C. Fremont gazed at the narrow strait that separates the Bay from the Pacific Ocean, and said “it is a golden gate to trade with the Orient.”
The bay area has bart which is a really nice mode of transport. In Oakland you can take it under the bay across to San Francisco. They are also the home A"s and Raiders if you are into sports. My Favorite spot is Jack London Square where you can catch a ferry to San Fran or just walk along looking at the shops and checking out the eatery's
Golden Gate Bridge is an engineering marvel. Visit by car or by cruise are equally enjoyable - latter more so because it gives yore opportunity to click your camera unhindered to take memories back home!
when you see this bridge in day time it seems red, but at the time of sunset it seems to be golden. & it is also a gateway to the sea.
