Take a bike tour, you get to see most of the area you probably wouldnt venture to on foot. Also on Bourbon St, don't forget around 5pm-6pm to check for the parade that goes down the street to start the night, its fun.

Being there only once, I would say the holiday inn on royal street is a good location. Room was very cleaning, you're close to Bourbon Street without being annoyed by the noise so you can sleep :)

It was a wonderful place. A small town near river with lots of jazz and dancing.Bourbon street and canal street were wonderful. i enjoyed my trip in ferry across the river. If you like to eat alligators its the place to be.

Travel in groups for safety and keep reasonable hours. Although New Orleans "never closes" and you can party till the sun comes up, you do want to live to party again and again. Don't be foolish in the French Quarter or anywhere else. Use good judgement always. There's plenty to experience in New Orleans. You don't have to do it all at once!

Looking for places to stay in New Orleans, any ideas of good hotels?

Plenty to do, shopping both in the French Quarter and on Canal Street. You can also go and visit the new WWII museum that they have

We have Gumbo here. To make Gumbo there is no one way and no one recipe to make a good Gumbo. That's New Orleans. You have a Gumbo of people, foods, music, and revelry. It's something different everyday. It's the past, the present, the future. We have suffered and we have survived. Laissez les bon temps roullez! Let the good times roll! That's what we do here... We are the fabric and make up of many cultures that bind us and let us be who we are...Then let us go back home to our everyday lives different and hopefully changed people...
