Berns 7th May 2009

I liked Nashville very much, music everywhere, musicians, guitars, huge speakers installed on most of the pedestrian waiting areas spewing soft western music in the mornings, western pop, jazz-->no problem if you forgot your ipod with you. It opens up your heart for some new music. This town has 'the boots made for walking town', the most phenomenal boots I have seen made, some super tasty chillies and burgers. Nashville is a mix of old American classic ambiance, easy, relaxing, friendly people and for the party goers- the Honky Tonk street is for you, original music, fantastic singers. Its not expensive, good for walks, nice little cafes and the best burgers I ever had. I find this place authentic, not made up for tourist, just sincere, passionate and quite mysterious.

Thank you for your wonderful comment Berns!
I've been through Nashville many times, but as front man for my Country Music band and Nashville was another gig place on our tour! So, I really didn't get much time to see the sights, walk downtown and just savor all Nashville has to offer!
It's been a lot of years since I was there last! Your comments and a couple others here, have inspired me to plan a vacation this autumn when the leaves start turning color, to Tennessee, with Nashville as the base for the rest of the Tennessee landmarks I want to enjoy!
Thank You all again for your great travel tips on Nashville!

Nashville is a really cool place to live. If you like live music, you can go out every night of the week and hear just about any genre. Museums your thing? We got 'em! Prefer the great outdoors? We got that, too! It's really nice to live in a thriving metropolis that has yet to lose its small town feel.

Oh! Did I mention that we just *love* a good meal here? Seems like you can't hardly go anywhere without bumping in to the best cook in the South. Mmmm!

Y'all come visit & you'll see what I mean! :-{)

I don't know why the name didn't appear, but this tip refers to the Hampton Inn in downtown Nashville.

Downtown Nashville (also locally called The Lower Broad Area for lower Broadway) is historic in the fact that the original Opry House is there along with bars such as Tootsie's & Legends Corner & Wildhorse. It can be a lot of fun most nights of the week but it is EXPENSIVE both for parking and for refreshments. It is worth a day visit. Losers Bar on Division is a very hot local club with live music on weekends a usually large college crowd and the most frequent celebrity patrons on week nights. It is not rare to see the likes of Kid Rock stop in for a drink
