USS Lexington was cool, as in neat. The actual temps were pretty high, even with fans and areas of blessed air conditioning (I had to be pulled from those areas). When you get your tickets (or call prior to arrival) you might consider becoming a member, the price isn't that much higher and it has better benefits. Kids will love this. Old out of shape people with bad knees will suffer. You get to climb up and down very steep steps numerous times. The rest of it is really neat. I could see how our guys enjoyed being "at sea", it must have been very exciting, being so full of life and so close to death. There's one tour that has personal accounts of an attack on the "Blue Ghost" that had some funny moments even in a time of terror. I highly recommend touring the USS Lexington. Spring or Fall would be best.
Ate at Longhorn Steak & Ale on Avalon street. AWESOME steaks! Highly recommended!

Holiday Inn Resort has a great Bar! Oh yeah lets not forget the E.B! It was great, hardly any people though, but somehow it always eases the tension....Mykee

If any of you are runners, there is a great run club. It's called the Corpus Christi Roadrunners, and you can find them on CorpusRunners.com. Any place on the beach, North Padre Island, is cool. There is swimming, beach combing, and some great fishing.
I just had a thought: Go on line, and check out our town. The City of Corpus Christi has a pretty thorough web site... Good luck!

If lived down here close to Corpus for about 12 years. I really enjoyed it down there. Even tho it gets very hot in the summer, there is so much to do. There is the USS Lexington, Texas State Aquarium, The Selena Memorial, the very beautiful coast line, North Beach and the famous ships of the Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria. Not far from Corpus is South Padre Island, Mustang Island, Port Aransas and Mexico. The sight seeing from Corpus to Port Aransas is beautiful. You could take the ferry and see dolphins or just drive the coast line. Either way this is a beautiful place to live with great people and great schools.

The Texas State Aquarium was awesome, there was a lot to see. My kids loved the dolphin show. We also ate at an array of restaurants including Jaliscos Mexican restaurant which was amazing, the food was good but the amount of each serving was great. Boat & Net has to be the best seafood/fast food place i have ever eaten at. There was also a little Chinese food place whose name I cannot remember, it was in a shopping center with a Peter Piper Pizza, a dollar store and was located right next to a jewelry store.
