Isabel 's tip about Porto, Portugal 1st Dec 2008

Porto is a very beautiful and unique city. Crossing the river through the D. Lus Bridge you have the nicest view. Take a walk by the sea in the beautiful and big sidewalks of Foz, enjoy the nicest bars by the sea.
Go to the city park and enjoy the beautiful gardens and lakes going all the way until the beach. Enjoy the night life in the Paris Galleries, go down to the ribeira and have a coffee in Peter's caf.

Well, Porto is a small city or as I call it, "a Big Village" and all due to its very friendly and hospitable people. The most magnificent scenario is when you come from Vila Nova de Gaia and look at Porto from the other side of the river. From there you can spot the bigger picture - the coloured houses in a big slope, bending towards the river. Walk as much as you can, check the corners, look above and beyond and you'll be dazzled, astonished, surprised. Go inside, step outside, climb (be careful not to fall). Do and see as much as you can... Or just sit by the riverside and do nothing at all but enjoying the view and the atmosphere!
