Coimbra for sure is the city with more charm in the time of farewell!
The historical monuments, museums and the tradition of the University of Coimbra, which was founded in 1290 in Lisbon and is located here in our city since 1537, also got a very live night life with many parties involving the students, such as the Queima das Fitas and Latada which take place roughly at the end of the school year and beginning respectively.Come and see for yourself the city.

One great city to live. The best city to study!
And it have a great night life.
For foreigners, there are a lot to visit and a lot to view. Monuments, gardens, night life ... it's a must see!

Marvelous ancient midsize city in the center of Portugal. This is a quite young and old town. Once called Aeminium (Roman Era) with a world-famous University, and where tradition (University, fado) and High-Tech walk together hand on hand. High quality of life. For those whol ike to party there are a few students partys that are a "must", namely "latada" and "queima das fitas", every two years, around the 4th of July (not US Independece day, Coimbra's day) there is also a parade around the city.
Coimbra is the symbol of a Romantic town, with hundreds of years of mysticism, the famous love-story of portuguese king D. Pedro and D. Ins is still alive in Hotel Quinta das Lgrimas for example.

Coimbra has a unique ambience, all its traditions are student related.
There are lots of pubs and in some places one can still hear the special musi "Fad de Coimbra"
