A nice university town for a short visit! We went to a wonderful flamenco show in this small restaurant there. I would recommend doing it!
I loved Barcelona! You can be walking down Las Ramblas and elaborately costumed street performers just start popping up all over the place. Or walk down to the pier and discover the gorgeous beach that's right in the city! Make sure to visit Gaudi's park and see as much of his architecture as possible.
Though I wish I'd visited in summer Hallstatt was breathtaking. We rented an apartment in a beautiful hostel right on the water with views of the mountains. The architecture is like nothing I've seen before, the people are extremely friendly and almost everyone knows English (which helped me out a lot!). I would recommend stopping in this small town to everyone!
This place was so cool! You have to go on the Nightwatchman Tour! If you need a break from a hectic backpacking/train trip, stop here. We did and it was definitely worth it.
This is such a beautiful island! I was there for a month and got very tired of it but spending 1-2 weeks would be ideal. The port is incredible at night, so beautiful and tons of vendors.
I really think everyone should visit Cinque Terre once in their lives. It's absolutely stunning. The hike between the 5 villages is intense even for someone in good shape and by the end you just kinda wanna die... but you'll never see views like that ever in your life again. I stayed in Riomaggiore and rented an apartment from Mar-Mar which is a great way to go. If you're taking a tour of Italy, DO NOT miss out on Cinque Terre!
