I spent a week on Sal and there is nothing there unless you like to stay in a hotel all the time. I'm easy going and make the best of things so we did, but I certainly wouldn't go there again. We did have a trip on a small plane to another island, it was a little better but there isn't really anywhere to go without a guide and even then, there is very little to see. Sal means salt of course and that is the best way to discribe it, people were lovely though.
I had a wonderful time, stayed with a lovely friend, had my first attempt at driving a boat and riding a motor cycle. Wisconsin is a beauty state and I only wish I had plans to visit again, in the spring summer of course.
It was actually one of my least favorite places to have stayed in. I have traveled far and wide and although the people are very nice ,there isn't too much to visit. Perfect for families who want to relax on the beach all day and have 'entertainment' all evening. The brochures are not honest in their descriptions unless I miss the topical forests!
