I need to know in objective way (so i guess no chinese either taiwanese could reply to that). I do many research and i know Taiwan was chinese during Qing dinasty and it was sold to japanese after.
I talked with a Taiwanese woman (blind as chinese about this topic) told me Taiwan was never chinese in history. It seems the taiwanese propaganda is as strong as chinese propaganda about this topic! just wanna have objective point of view about history to that question. someone can help me?

what i know is formosa island was not important at all to chinese during centuries. It was invaded by japanese, spanish, dutch and french also. At the end of Ming dinasty chinese troops put out the ducth people there but also been out of Formosa because it was the end of Ming dinasty. In 1683, following the defeat of Koxinga's grandson by an armada led by Admiral Shi Lang of Southern Fujian, the Qing formally annexed Taiwan, placing it under the jurisdiction of Fujian province. In 1885, the Qing upgraded Taiwan's status from prefecture of Fujian to full province, the twentieth in the empire, with its capital at Taipei.

What you wrote is mostly by the book, which can be considered as a formal one for the time before 1900. Taiwan had been a colony of Japan due to a lost war between Qing and Japan in the late 19 century. Taiwan then was returned to China after the end of WWII. Unfortunately, right after end of war, the internal war between KMT and communist started inside China. KMT, had been the government before that, lost mainland China to the communist which became RPC 1949, while KMT moved to Taiwan and elvoves till now.
There much more detail in the story of how and why it becomes the state now. Many political disputes arise from the interpretation of history.
You may find traditional Chinese people who are friendly and welcome visitors in both area.

Thanks for your answer!...so i was right...Taiwan was chinese in some period of history! Yes i know also about KMT and chang Kai Check (at least as crazy as Mao)....by the way Taiwan after world war 2 stayed a violent and strict dictature until the dead of Chang Kai Chek...it becomes a democracy only in the 80's right?

Taiwan was part of China but when China lost the war with Japanaround 1900 the Qing dynasty had nothing to give Japan for reparation except Taiwan which remained under Japanese rule until after WWII.

Taiwan was not returned to China after WW II, it was occupied by the US, then when Chiang left mainland China and took over Taiwan the US agreed to leave.
