Food food food, everywhere, lots of great value restaurants, feel like taking a family of fifteen for dinner and it will not cost you that much. Hope you like rice though, burger and rice, chicken and rice etc. I like Pancit, Adobong Manok, Menudo Afritada. Pick a good restaurant and food will be great, pick a cheap one and food will be fatty.

If you travel further, visit Palawan, Bohol all beautiful places, In the north there is the other capitol city of Baguio

San Roque Dam in San Manuel Pangasinan is an interesting visit, but book in advance if you can, it is free though.

Have Fun and enjoy your trip.

Makati City and Pasig City are parts of Metro Manila, the business area and are worth a look if you like Architecture. Manila varies from very very third world to reasonably nice to very very nice, unfortunately the gap between poverty is very wide and you will see this as you travel through this vibrant city that never sleeps, best not to travel alone as with any country or large city. Most People from the Philippines are very nice people, but as with anywhere just take care. Visit Intramuros is the old spanish styled city with Rizal park is worth a look for the history of the natial hero Rizal. SM Supermall is one of the largest shopping Malls in asia / the world. Above all have fun and enjoy the Manila Bay Sunset and many entertainment bars in along the frontage at night.

I agree Michelle, all you travelers learn to say Kumusta Ka Na? (How are you?) and Mabuti (Good) and that is a fair start to making anyone smile :-) My only critisism if it is a critisism is that most Filipino know how to speak English, but they are too scared and shy to try and speak it :-( maybe it is my British / Birmingham Accent!!! Yes I have family in the Fil :-) And after 5 years +, they are still scared of my accent and wether I understand them. But at least if you are Engliish learn Kumusta and Mabuti and even Tagalog if you are faster at learning it than me.
