What is the poverty levels like?

Joseph Chibesa from Lusaka, Zambia Joseph
The poverty levels are high like in an other third world countri. The gap between Rich and poor is to wide. I am wondering what methods could be used to reduce this gap.

like anyother third world country, but with very enterprising people so expect street vending as a mitigating effort

David, I guess poverty is what you make it or should i say it really depends on what you really mean by "poverty", time and again i have heard and read news articles saying that there is poverty in Zambia, but believe me, in my own view i would say Zambia is avarage, in that people are very innovative, there is no more stealling in the street like it used to be in the 70's when i was growing up, nowadays, alot pf people including school dropouts and even those who were at one time hard cores in stealing would rather sell in the street and earn a living, rather than stealing, well we have street kids who also are busy with there on thing, but by the end of the day every one is doing something to make ends meet. Just come and see for yourself the manssions people in the low class are building, then out of your own judgement, you will be able to tell whether there is poverty in Zambia or not.

Poverty is always relative, in this city you find all classes of people, but the larger portion of course is on the very low income group/.
