Ravi Shankar  added a tip about India
11th Sep 2010

My Chennai is one of the cities which is considered as an Icon of BOTH Culture ,civilization,Tradition and Modernisation....

This is a city not many foreigners know about.

It has the largest beach in Asia, is home to one of the biggest film industries in the world - Kollywood and houses BMW and Victoria's Secret factories. South Indian food is excellent but sadly not well known outside India.

Chennai is also famous for traditional music and dance as well as its numerous saree and jewellery shops. Warm all year round - avoid May-July. The temples are beautiful too - the popular ones are the Kapaleshwar temple in Mylapore and the Madhya Kailas in Adyar.

Friendly and helping people, people understand English, nice and clean beach, pretty calm, cost of living cheap, safe city, traffic controlled, well connected, you get all you need, cops are helpful too, nobody disturbs you as in, could not see hooligan activity or teasing.

that's not good enough that you criticize for others feelings. you can have your own emotions and love for your place.similarly you would have your own perspective to looking things. this doesn't mean that it makes your place best or worst for other ones???

Bangalore Or Bengaluru as it known now, was known as the garden city of India, now offcourse the IT hub. A cosmopolitan city, very friendly people, makes it easy for anybody to make it their home town. Thats why the local population is abt 25% & the rest are others ! Settled here from various
parts of the world.

Ravi, you are very wrong in at least one respect. South Indian food is now much better known and very well liked in many coutries outside India, Especially the Dosai's, Idlies, and Sambhar etc, if not the full Thali. In Houston, Texas where I live. a city of 4 million inhabitants, there are probably close to 100 hundred South Indian restaurants. And dont think that only customers of Indian origin go there. Many of my American friends have a habit of visiting some such restaurant once every week or so.
