The trains of Austria and Germany were a special delight to me, especially the journey along the Rhine, but I also loved the intimate tracks through the Schrebergarten and the back side of small towns. A glass of wine, a little bite to eat in the dining car as the countryside and cityscapes rolled by was one of the high points of my journeys across Europe from Amsterdam to Ljubljama.
