Clive  (with reference to Fishing, Bird Watching) 11th Jan 2012

Go fishing. There is nothing more peacfull than siitting by a quiet lake or stream miles away from anywhere. No phones, birdsong the only disturbance unless you get lucky and hook a fish. Then relaxation takes a break-its you against the fish, the adrenaline kicks in when you realize its a big one-is the rod and line strong enough! Then when its landed on the bank your heart pounds and you marvel at the beauty of nature. You check it for health and hold it for a few moments in the water as it recovers then watch as at dissapears back to where it came.

you have to touch them when you un hook them and the bait is normally luncheon meat or dog food pellets or sweet corn for the larger ones and Maggots for the smaller species. Dont worry you do get used to them-honest.

In one of our trips to India I did spot a large catfish in the river Kali at Dandelli but there were crocodiles nearby so I didnt jump in after it. We were write water rafting at the time. Went back a seciond time a few months later but didnt see the fish. Wonder why?

Fishing is definately better when you go with friends. Then you have someone to pull you out when you fall in trying to land the biggest fish you have ever caught!

fishing is a real fun to do... i remember when we were kids we went with our father using a lamp and we catch fish by hitting it with a long knife not rod hehehe but it made me really enjoy trying to hit an elusive fish..when i caught one i felt like i am big already and also felt some inner fulfillment ....
