You should always follow your dreams, and seeing them is so worth a visit to Egypt, but remeber, egypt has so much more to offer and if you travel along the Nile you will come to Luxor where most of the ancient monuments are situated and from where you can take a wonderful cruise down the Nile to Aswan and see the Island Temples and the Great Temple of Abu Simbel.
I hope you achieve your dream soon.

Thankyou, it is simply how I see it, and yes it is majestic, and magical and mystical

I recommend taking a nile cruise. We did it with one of the Sudanese boats - nothing like those huge nile cruisers. We "docked" for the night and set up a "bathroom" and then set sail again in the morning. It was lovely.

I think you mean a felukka, and yes that is a really lovly way to do it.
I know a felukka manager and he said that the big Nile cruisers serve plastic food made for plastic tourists........rather rude, but I did see his point.

EXACTLY... and who wants a PLASTIC vacation? I went through a tour agency based in Australia... they require that you RESPECT the culture and RESPECT the environment through your trip. It was a backpacker-like tour so it was cheaper but also a lot more fun!

THings are settling down, but life is hard with little tourism which is the mainstay of egyptian economy. Its safe to vacation here, so send them back PLEASE.
You cant imagine how much poverty there is now and the work animals who look awful and are suffering so.
Luxor waits for tourists, and is ready.
