i would like to visit a budish ashram, any recomendations?

Visit the place where they have monuments of it, sadly buddism started in india, but not practiced much here, than Butan, China, Japan,thiland,Korea....

Bodh Gaya is a religious site and place of pilgrimage associated with the Mahabodhi Temple Complex in Gaya district in the Indian state of Bihar. It is famous for being the place where Gautama Buddha is said to have obtained Enlightenment (Bodhimandala).

And there r other various places of attraction related to Buddhism here in India

Gangtok is beutiful tourist place and there are good budhist ashrams. There is no law and order proble. You will really enjoy the place and nearby town. If you travel in a team you can hire taxi, it will be economic as well. Be careful about weather. Plan properly, go upto north sikkim and spend a few days there.
