Depends what your 'interests' are (apart from the above "shopping"!), but I'd recommend visiting the French (or other!) Alps, for the upcoming winter-season, as well as in summer, for alternative activities to those of skiing, snow-boarding, etc. ... or, 'over' said Alps, the whole 'sweep' of Italy - including Sicily, too! - or, 'over' another mountain-range: the Pyrenees, inland or coastal Spain, which I love, but I'm relatively 'biased' ...!!
