I would love to be able to teach overseas and looking for information on how this is possible. I just received my BS in ECME education and have no ideas or directions on where to go from here and work overseas. I been working in education for 11 years as a substitute or TA. But would love to hear from others what they learned, experiences and bounce ideas off of. Thank you hope to hear from you

The hard part is getting affliliated with a reputable school. I just spent my first year in China with an UNreputable school. This next year is going to be great as I am ging to be teaching at a brand new school that is run by the Concordia group. Where did you get your degree from? US?

At this point I am finding that since I did not do the student teaching for Licensure in USA. I have to go into Masters program or OPAL. I passed the Basics Teachers test and took the other test and even if I do well and pass the 2nd test. In USA still not allow to teach. You have to get another Diploma to teach: (. In a few years we will have our classrooms over loaded, due to no one will want to teach anymore.

Well not another diploma, but seems that way. I can understand. But locking a lot of people out that enjoy and love teaching, with all the barriers.

I started it that fall and so had to resign my job at that time. Unfortunately a tooth broke in 1/2 and the pain from it was very bad. Now the cost to repair was 1k and with no health insurance now.

Well, if you ever broke a tooth you know the pain. Well could not continue and would take a while to save the money so live off of for 6 months again. I have my sons, and would be to hard to do this again. So will do this other way.

Many places abroad, give the teacher's children free tuition. HOw old are your boys? If they are still in grade school that's better. High school is a bit more difficult to find

I know that International Schools in Bangkok pay pretty well, and it is quite an adventure to live here. I think that it is worth a try. I did it for 5 years.
