the only requirement to become software developer is that you should have a strong problem solving and analytical skills...once you successed in devloping logic then you can apply that in any programming language whether itz c,c++,java,.net,php,pearl etc. in languages logic remains the same only syntax changes.to get basic understanding of syntax learn C except pointers(because pointers will confuse your mind), java solved the problems faced by the programmers when making use of pointers in language like c.there r no pointers in java.

You have to like problem solving. You must learn at least one programming language such as C/C++, Java, Python. You must learn to read code written from other people. You can receive certifications for your knowledge. You must be able to work with other people either local or remotely. You have to be open minded. You must have in your mind that there is always a solution.

S/W Developer is highly specialized area that requires training; often this is intensive and includes s/w languages such as C++, Java, Visual Basic, etc. An individual involved in this area of work will receive certified training at community colleges, on the job, and online.
