Juan 's tip about Asunción, Paraguay  (with reference to Food & Wine, Fishing, Restaurants) 10th Oct 2011

On the food side, Asunción is a city where meat lovers will enjoy their stay; the offer on fish and other sea/river creatures is not that great (mainly surubi, a local river-bound fish which is quite grassy). On the best restaurants, you will find saumon and maybe some other ones.

There is a cruiser in the Paraguay river meanwhile you can know the fantastic Pantanal. Paraguay has the second wilderness area, after the Amazonas jungle, it is called the great Chaco, where allt heir visitors can find many wild animals and such beatifull areas where you can enjoy nature. There are many others places with very nice views and wonderfull sceneries, as the Mbatovi reserve and the Monday falls. Come to Paraguay and enjoy it!!!

Juan 's tip about Asunción, Paraguay  (with reference to Business, Internet, Music, Horse racing, Food & Wine, City Breaks, Fishing, Restaurants) 10th Oct 2011

If you're on a business trip you will therefore find a quite good offer of hotels for staying with enough support for all your needs (good internet access - usually free unlike many other european counterparts - conference rooms, etc).

At night, Asunción offers a great choice and variaty of places to go; it's very typical to have pubs that offer live music (usually local groups that version famous groups), the Kilckeny Irish pub at Las Carmelitas is very nice and lively; there is also an amazing offer of concerts from big music starts at the Jockey Club (just check their programs). You will also find discos and other areas to amuse yourself.

Asunción is nice city. There are not many things for sightseeing is that is what you are looking for: I would say Cerro Lambaré is one of them, the presidential house with organized visits, and several buildings (the rose museum with its garden and sourroundings for example) although in most cases you will find they are not in very good conditions, which is a pity. You will not need much more than two or three days for taking a look around the city and getting the essential spirit of it. Apparently, Asunción is still not ready for the typical tourist, but I suppose they are their way with a good hotel infrastructure.
