I am Maltese, so, I'm bound to be biased. However, Malta is a tiny island full of history and rich in archeology. We have a warm, welcoming sun, sandy/rocky beaches; castles, forts, auberges, towers and prehistoric sites. Our sister island, Gozo is even smaller than Maltas but just as abundant in the above mentioned riches. Our culture is Mediterranean and our Religion is Roman Catholic. Welcome to Malta.

's tip about Valletta, Malta
(with reference to Bus Travel, Cruise Travel, City Breaks, Beach outings, Restaurants, Coffee & Chat, Food & Wine)

Love Malta. Cheap way to get around is by bus, at peak times, they get crowded. If there for few days ask driver for a 3 or 5 day pass, it gives unlimited travel round Malta. Pity they are replacing all old buses. Must places to see. Valletta, take a harbour cruise, look for special offers, plenty of competition. Mdina, wonderful old city with great views, the blue grotto is an experience, about 7 euro (2010) for a boat trip into the caves. I like to stay in Sliema or St Julian's Bay. Whereever you go plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes to choose from, quality and price can vary but you will find good food. Best of all all are the people of Malta, very friendly, very helpful.

Well I am Maltese. The majority if not all of the Maltese are very friendly and in case of any difficulty you surely to find somebody to help you. Many Maltese speak English & Italian besides other languages. Malta has excellent weather and there are many places where you can enjoy yourself. Besides there are many historical places one can visit. The thousands of tourist that visit Malta is proof enough.
