I would LOVE to go to Bali and hear that you can go to and stay in some of the most amazing places, for very little money. Does anyone have any good recommendations of places to stay?

LIVING now little more than 1 year on Bali .... great time - very lovely & friendly people - relaxing - ..... just pity so much traffic but still possible to organize trips / going out not in the rush hours .... Stayed in a hotel that was far from the beach. In fact it was situated beside the main road. Very inconvenient. Nothing much to view. Went to a temple just beside their tourist market. Was threatened (with the hand fist) by the personnel in charge. Didn't know that location was out of bounds. No signage to indicate,door was open. At all times, please huddle with someone. It is very easy for someone to take advantage or play violent with you, especially if you were a lady. Not going back to Bali again. Other than their historical temples and beautiful sea cliffs, everything else is a tourist trap.
