Nitin 's tip about Havana, Cuba  (with reference to Cooking, Food & Wine) 24th Oct 2011

I have an office in Havana and have been going there 6 times a year since 1999 and will be there again 29th of Oct to 8th November. Stay in a private residence, great house and much cheaper than any hotel with a chef & maid.
Places to eat: La Fontana in Miramar, La Guarida in Centro Habana, Good Italian food at Prado y Neptuno, best Pizza is at a Pizzeria in a town 20 mins out of Havana called Guanabacoa.
Cool places to drink: beer at La Cerveceria in Old Havana, Roof top bar of Hotel Ambos Mundo or Saratoga. lobby of Hotel telegrafo.
Go across to the fort El morro..they have great parties overlooking the harbour.
If you need further info please message me, glad to help.

Joanna 's question about Havana, Cuba 5th Feb 2012

una pregunta... que moneda coger? Es mejor coger CUC o $??

Alejandro Somoza from Havana, Cuba Alejandro
Si quieres mas asesoria me dices....

Manzanillo is a nice place to visit, however I haven't been back since 2008. It is however still full of history, and lovely spanish-inspired architecture. The centre square has a lovely monument that's russian/middle-eastern influence. I always enjoyed the parks. Saturday nights, the restaurants place tables and chairs outdoors, so it's a nice dining experience amid the night time activity. I recommend trying a native non-alcholic drink called "Pru", it has an interesting flovor. Because Manzanillo lies on the coast, sea-food is abundant and fresh! Don't be afraid to try food from them, they may look a bit shabby, but it's apart of the whole experience. Hope this proves helpful. Enjoy!
