Don't miss the game reserve, only 5 km outside Bujumbura. But mind the crocodiles.

Walter 's tip about Bujumbura, Burundi  (with reference to Beach outings, Food & Wine, Nightlife, Car Travel, Trekking, Biking, Bird Watching) 16th May 2012

The biggest crocodile, Gustave, is long gone, but there is a lot more fascinating stuff about Burundi. For one, Bujumbura looks more like a seaside tropical resort with the most awesome white sand beaches. The food is great and so are the people. The nightlife is carefree. Upcountry, just a few minutes drive from Bujumbura is the source of the river Nile, the longest river in the world. There are amazing waterfalls and the hill country is perfect for trekking, biking and the interior lakes great for bird watching.

nothing to do all day long. They should improve on creating a tourist based infrastructure. all hotels become lively only on weekends. Normal days died. but i still like it.

This article is ment for promoting Burundi as a holiday destination. It is one of the few countries that lacks the big numbers of animals, with an exception of bird species, but compensates that very well with breath taking sceneries during your travel in the country.
