Hi, Why do chinese people always steam food while cooking?

Michel Veekmans from Diepenbeek, Belgium Michel
That is the easiest way to prepare food if you have almost nothing. You only need water. It will desinfect sufficiently and keep good natural taste. BTW: chinese people can make delicious food from everything what you can eat.

As an English person I found the book Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China fascinating and covers the period of the Communist Party of China and Mao Zedong's Red Army, before and beyond. It is a family history that spans a century, recounting the lives of three female generations in China, by Chinese writer Jung Chang.Wild Swans contains the biographies of her grandmother and her mother, then finally her own autobiography.
I also think food is a big representation of culture so check out Chinese cooking websites where there is often a lot of interesting information, and get cooking and eating Chinese food. http://www.chinesechinese.net/ is all about Chinese culture too.
