I speak English. So when I went to Moscow I learn the alphabet first, then the basic conversation, then consult some words on dictionary given by the local friend there. the way i have found to enjoy this beautiful language is listening and translating some songs i like so much. Learning them by heart And then singing them!!!

Find a Russian who know your language to learn Russian from him/her.

I learned Russian in my high-school and university. In the first year of my career， I translated a few Russian drawings (blueprints) . Since 1963, I haven't read any Russian publishing. Now I even forgot some alphabetic letters of Russian.
