You need to test some items like the wetsuit, mask and fins to check if they fitt well, for that it is better a place near you, some other stuff like regulator and dive computer you can get good deals over the internet

I would join a Club who is Certified in either PADI, or CMAS Instruction Before you Buy or purchase anything always check it out for fit, and comfort. It doesn't hurt to ask if they allow trying the equipment on and using for testing before you invest your hard earned money. Make sure the Price you pay for the instructions includes your C Card Certification and open water dive. You can always rent those items. Your BC, and dive Computer, Watch, are items that are a personal decision. Good luck and have Fun.
