If you can't find/can't afford a very good teacher, then you might try to find at least some expert violinist to guide you through your first steps up to a year at least...

It is recommended to have your first lessons when you're little, as it's much harder for adults to learn and get their fingers to adopt to the fluency and technicality required, but it's not impossible, as there are always exceptions...

You have to be able physically as well, if you have lean long fingers you'll have less pain practising and you'll reach the advanced higher positions and leaps much easier.

I wouldn't recommend any online sources, it's always best to have a dedicated tutor, but you might always find some good tips and great score sheets on the internet.
